Lamoine Beach is a popular local swimming beach 2,740 yards long that provides
nice views of Mount Desert Island and the mountains of Acadia National
Park. There are some picnic facilities and a boat ramp available. The 55 acre Lamoine
State Park is nearby offering larger picnic and campsite areas, hot showers, a dock and boat access. Nearby Ellsworth,
known as the gateway to Downeast Maine, is the main commercial center.
Directions:
There are a few ways to get to Lamoine Beach, but the most simple way to explain it is to go about one-half mile
east on U.S. Route 1 from Ellsworth. Take a right onto Route #184 and go about 9 miles (about 1 mile past Lamoine
State Park). You will come right to the beach parking area and boat ramp.
