Cadillac Mountain Glacial Boulder - Acadia National Park

A large glacial boulder sits near the summit of Cadillac Mountain on the northeastern side of Mount Desert Island in Acadia National Park, Maine. During the ice ages, a sheet of ice up to two miles high moved across Cadillac Mountain sheering off the top. Early explorers noted how the mountain tops appeared barren of trees.
