Flowering Arch to Green Moss

Greg A. Hartford, photographer, author, publisherIf you like flowering gardens, this is one that you should visit while on Mount Desert Island. Located in Northeast Harbor on the south-central part of Mount Desert Island, it is easy to get to since it is at the intersection of Route 3 and Route 198 just north of the village. Even if flowers are not your main interest, you should appreciate the excellent design and layout of the plants and pathways through the garden in an elegant Japanese style. These first 9 photos should give a good idea as to some of the wonderful sights awaiting you and your family from the natural flowering archway, to the reflective pond, and the Hobbit type fantasy created by the green moss and ferns.
