There are a truly impressive amount of vacation rentals available in the Bar Harbor and whole Acadia National Park region, extending from Mount Desert Island all the way southwest to Blue Hill, northwest to Branch Lake, and east to the Schoodic area surrounding the portion of the park on the mainland. These vary from basic cabins for $500 - $600 per week all the way up to opulent homes that would qualify as mansions to most of us and rent for over $10,000 per week. There are many that are even cliff side. There is one on its own island for the truly adventurous or romantic. From fresh cedar to brick, from deep in the woods to shore side, there is something here for you. Do not hesitate to look outside of Bar Harbor itself. There are excellent values all over. Keep in mind that Acadia National Park covers a very large area. Most every property on MDI is fairly close to either the ocean or the park itself.
