This glorious vew of Mount katahdin wearing its Autumn attire is from the shore of Compass Pond next to the Golden Road.

Mount Katahdin in Autumn Colors

One of the great places to view Mount Katahdin is from Compass Pond which is right next to the Golden Road, an old logging road that heads westerly and crossed over the West Branch of the Penobscot River at Abol Bridge. This is to the northwest of Millinocket in Piscataquis County. Autumn was very colorful even on October 3. Image Specs: Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Sigma 150-600mm f/5.6 Comtemporary Lens at 150mm, f/22, 0.3 Second and ISO 100.
