This panoramic photo shows Southwest Harbor, Maine during a late afternoon on a warm July day. This is a famous yacht building community and desireable vacation destination on Mount Desert Island, home to Acadia National Park.

A well known boat building section of Southwest Harbor is Manset. From this vantage point, you can see the Bear Island Lighthouse to the east or look north into Somes Sound (see panoramic).

There are 17 mountains on Mount Desert Island. The one in the distant center is Cadillac Mountain. At 1,532 feet, it is the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard (see Cadillac Mountain panoramic).
