Bar Harbor, Maine, the largest town on Mount Desert Island, is seen above in this beautiful sunset panoramic image taken from Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. Bar Harbor has become a popular port-of-call for many cruise lines. Several smaller islands can be seen here between the harbor and the mainland in the distance. This body of water is called Frenchman Bay.

Mount Desert Island is home to the majority of Acadia National Park. There are over 20 mountains on the island. Cadillac Mountain, at 1,532 feet, is the highest.
