Jordan Pond and the Bubbles in Acadia National Park

Jordan Pond & The Bubbles - Acadia National Park, Maine

This striking panoramic photograph of Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park shows the North and South Bubbles in the distance just below the clouds to the north. The famous Jordan Pond House, a short walk to the south, is a famous restaurant known for serving tea and popovers on the lawn for over a century. It is the only restaurant on Mount Desert Island that is within park land. This is one of the most popular spots for visitors each year.

There is a hiking path that loops around the pond and a carriage road that runs along the left or western side. Acadia National Park is known for its rocky coast and Cadillac Mountain. At 1,532 feet, it is the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard. (see panoramic)
