Prospect Harbor Lighthouse and the clouds above are touched by the last embers of the setting sun in this beautiful photograph taken from the eastern shores of Gouldsboro Peninsula, just north of Acadia National Park at Schoodic Peninsula. The station is located on land that is part of a U.S. Naval Cummunications Center and is not open to the public. The original station was established in 1850. The current one was built in 1891. The above lighthouse image is available in the following approximate sizes, matted and framed in a truly beautiful process that does not require glass: 9.3 x 14, 13.3 x 20, 16 x 24, and 20 x 30 inches |
